drum playback skips beats

drum playback skips beats

Anyone else have trouble playing back softsynth drums such as EZdrummer or Kontakt? I've got WinXP on a 2.66 quad core, 2gb ram with a 10,000rpm sata HDD. On faster tracks, like 140bpm, I can't play the drums without it skipping beats, even when I solo the drum track.

    What audio interface are you using? What driver mode? ASIO, other? Which software version are you using?

    Thanks, I got it figured out. It was an old file going back several versions. I made a new project and copied the tracks, all OK now. 

    I'm using a Tascam US122. They don't make them anymore but  I like the A/Ds in it (made by Frontier Designs, unlike the newer versions).
