drum programming with step sequencer
Let's say you have 4 drum parts in a song,(intro, verse, bridge, chorus), is there a way to do one part, save it, do the next part, save it and so on... Then load a templet (ez drummer) all the parts, and mix them all at the same time, if so what do you save the individual parts as?? If not, what can you do?? Anth
There's always room for 2 guitar parts!!!

Yes, but youll need to load ezdrummer first so you can hear it as your programming the drums. you just do one section at a time. I do basically the same thing,One section at a time, but i trigger ezdrummer with v-drums, instead of using the step sequencer. Cj

Just bounce each Step Sequencer clip into a MIDI file and then Copy/Paste each one into a single project. You can have several projects opened which will make things easier as long as you have this enabled under Options:Global::General Tab. HTH P.S. Next time, just open EZDrummer before creating your MIDI groove clips with the Step Sequencer. That way you won't have to save clips in different projects again.

Start a project in SONAR and just write your midi tracks for each part in a different track. use EXD as your VSTi Just plain ordinary Cakewalk SONAR .cwp files.

ORIGINAL: anth007 Actually I had ez drummer open for all of these, I made a templet for it, I just didn't know what to save them as, now I know thanks to you guys once again!! This place Friggin' rocks!!! When you say"Bounce" do you mean export to midi, or bounce to a track(please hold the laughter down if that is a stupid question) Thanks Anth OK, you're saying that each drum part (for the intro, verse, chorus, etc) was created in it's own project. But they are parts of the same song hence you want them all to be in the same project, am I right so far? If this is the case, then what I meant by bouncing was to right-click each drum part's clip and select "Bounce to clip". This will convert each Step Sequencer clip into their own MIDI clips that you can Copy/Paste into one common project. Or you could also save them as MIDI files and import them into a project in Sonar. Hopefully, this is the answer you're looking for. Take care!

Under HELP look up layering. You can add layers to the same project.

id really like to see them add real time editing to the step sequencer in future releases, meaning you listen to a real time clip and hit a pad where you want the sounds(just like a drum machine)
