easy (?) key bindings question

In Sonar X1d, when creating a new Drum Map Preset, with the cursor in the box to enter the text for the name of the preset, Key Bindings are preventing me from using certain characters in the file name.

For example, "W" is the default key binding for RTZ, so I can't enter a W because the keystroke gets insta-snatched by Sonar and converted to an RTZ command; nothing shows up in the text box...  Can't seem to be able to use the SPACE character, or any other key that is used by Key Bindings.

(1) Is there some way to temporarily disable Global Key Bindings?  I can't seem to be able to "unbind" the pre-defined key bindings either...

(2) Is there some other work around?

Much thanks to anyone who can help!

Joe

At the top right of plugs, browsers and other various windows within Sonar is a little button that kind of looks like a computer keyboard. Click that and then type within whatever field you are trying to access. It's call "Give All Keyboard Strokes" or something like that. Cheers.

    Problem:

There is no such button when entering keystrokes into the drum map manager in sonar (its not a plug).

I'm not sure why that's happening there Joe, but for the worst case scenario, you can actually unbind any default shortcuts. Just select the shortcut in the Preferences - Keyboard Shortcuts dialog, and then bind it to the function called Do Nothing: Use To Block Pre-Defined Accelerators.
