e-mu 0404 - no right speaker

i have installed an e-mu 0404 pci card on my computer(new dell dimension 3000, celeron D, 512 MB, 80 GB) and everything works well except it puts out no sound to my right speaker. I have gone to the "souind, speech, and audio devices" in the control panel and when i go to volume and look under speaker settings, it only shows levels for the left speaker. It's as if no right speaker exists. I'm not sure if it's my instillation disk(the right speaker worked on the factory card) or the whole pci card. any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated!
