My favorite part of that Father Ted episode is when Mrs Doyle is studying her "Football For Women" book in front of the TV and she says "Go on...." glances at book) "....my son!" The smug look of self satisfaction on her face is priceless. It's the same look as when she correctly guessed Todd Unctious's name.

I heard a rumor (or should I say "rumour?") that a bunch of hobbits finished higher than England in their group...

Who can not like Father Ted! My girlfriend unfortunately, who folds her arms and starts tapping her foot if I put it on :( I've watched it since it was first on TV and have the DVD's which I watch regularly. I still maintain the Christmas special was the best Christmas special of any TV show ever.

Hi, Funny ... I put on PDQ Bach right away and listened to the football game on Beethoven's 5th. I still find that funny, but then even the horse race in Derek and Clive's album is hilarious to me with .... tucked between the two ... and so on!
Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!

When did they start broadcasting football audio on Beethoven's 5th?

More like 45 years ago! It's a famous skit, if you have not heard it.
