I've certainly paid more for "mind-bending psychedelic effects". The obvious question is: what can you do with this that you can't do with your synthesizers?

There are a couple of short video demos on you-tube that show Etch's bag of tricks rather nicely. Anyone that already has FabFilter Volcano can probably do most (but I think not quite all) these tricks already. But for 20 bucks, it truely is a no-brainer in my estimation. I do have Volcano, which I'll probably end up using very little when all is said and done. So I'd probably never use Etch ... but I'm still gonna get it! Just can't resist at that price.

Any idea how long the audiomidi deal will last or is it just until they run out? I'm assuming it's a download and so open to us here in the UK? Steve

Actually Etch sounds different from Volcano...which I have and love (FabFilter, natch) and its GUI, at least to moi, seems more intuitive. YMMV. Sometimes when I hear sentiments like Bit's it gives me pause...thank goodness...but then I remember that just like a Les Paul sounds different than a Strat which sounds different from even a Telecaster or an L-5 that different eqs, compressors, phasers, flangers, filters, insert your effect here do the same. YMMV.

From their last AAS Strum Electric no brainers, it's about a month. But all past no brainers are sold out. They send me a license key, with a link to download from the product own site so it should be good to purchase anywhere. I have been avoiding many offers lately, not that I have a lot of stuffs.. but I under utilize those that I already have.. there are still a few sitting in the folder waiting to be installed. ..which gives me more saving for this.. and the feature is unique enough. So, I'm going for this. Albert

LANEY Website says 5 days only! Indeed.. real fine print. Just got it, waiting for serial now. I wonder why it didn't show up at no-brainers link.. only sold out items are shown there.

yorolpal its GUI, at least to moi, seems more intuitive I assume you mean the Etch GUI as opposed to the Volcano GUI. If so, that was my impression as well ... just from watching the demo videos. Very straightforward way of setting up some fairly abstract sound manipulation. Haven't had a chance to compare Etch and Volcano first hand. Glad you said they're different ... more justification to spend money on something I really don't need.

Kreative I just haven't got the itch for etch. When they gonna' have a FabFilter sale, hey? I'd be surprised if they do, I bought all of the fab filter stuff last xmas.. save your pennies till then and you can save £120 / $300 ish as for Etch, it's a good plug.. but then again it's down to the music you make.. as much as I don't do tracking etc :) JUST I'm a bit miffed with them putting it out only 1/4 of the price cheaper WITHIN 2 MONTHS!! so if they wanna do that, I will wait till their stuff is bargain basement in future.

Me too. So much for the "introductory" $70.00 price I paid. It's a cool but rather hungry plug. Would be much cooler if I'd paid $20.

Kreative I just haven't got the itch for etch. When they gonna' have a FabFilter sale, hey? FF never has sales on individual plugs ... at least not one I can recall. They have had a year-end bundle sale every year for the last several in which you can save 25%, if I recall correctly. Check now to see if they have a bundle that meets your needs and start saving your pennies if they do. Of course, there's no guarantee that'll it'll happen again this year, but history is on your side.

Plus, the more FF stuff you own the deeper your discount every day on any new plugs or bundles you purchase. I loves me some FabFilter!

I just checked and I have the FX Bundle, but never use Volcano. Looked at Etch, but don't see I need it since I have Volcano. I might get Saturn at Christmas sale. Just checked and like you said- I got a pretty good discount waiting right now because I have gone in deep. But seriously, you have them all don't you?

Almost...there's a couple I don't have like Simplon and the synth thingy. But all the major stuff. I just think their policy of discounting more the more plugs you own is a good thing and something to think about when one is buying their stuff. Saturn...BTW...is waaay cool...you'll love it.
