menu's in french

Hi Guys, I have installed sonar 6.3 le which came with my Allen & Heath zen 428 everything is fine apart from the top task bar is in french along with all the dropdown options. On installation I selected english, have done a re-install but problem persists. Has anybody come across this anomaly. Would appreciate any guidance to get going.

    Zut alors!

sorry couldn't resist.. which country is your pc / windows setup for ? I mean is it french or candian? maybe.

it might have taken the setting from one of the windows variables, hence the French.

sonar LE itself might be multi-lingual.. or maybe the disk is the french version... have you explored the disk to see if there is just one setup file ? maybe it's

when you insert the disk, it autostarts and with some of the cake things I have , it gives you a language option?

close that, open the files manually, right click on the CD/dvd drive icon and seeing if there is just is more than one executable file on the disk. maybe "setup" instead of autorun..

maybe that might work better.. the installer comes up in english though?

so ya installed the program on another pc without issue and it's english?

hhmm wonder whats up with your pc that'd default to french.

    uninstall it and

    http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/

run  registry cleaner till you get zero errors or near zero and backup when it gives you the options, also run the "cleaner" tab... and reboot... try and install again..

if that doesn't help, I'll ask someone for ya. Thing is LE is OEM , so doesn't come with support officially, but maybe there is a command line switch you can force the installer to use english.

Are you using an international version of Windows? As you know, in many non-English locales a comma is used to separate decimal digits instead of a period. In other words, a machine running on a German or French version of Windows would expect a "," as a decimal separator character. This can cause problems in some versions of SONAR and certain plug-ins.

    Here are 2 workarounds.

[1] Run the Windows Control Panel, and go to the "Regional and Language Options" panel. Under the "Standards and formats" setting, choose "English (United States)". This will cause numbers to formatted and scanned in the way these plugins expect, but will
also cause times and dates to formatted for US English, which may not be desirable. So you might want to try [2] instead...

[2] Again bring up the "Regional and Language Options" panel, but click on the [Customize...] button, and make the following changes:

    Decimal symbol: .
    Digit grouping symbol: ,
    List separator: ,

If this doesn't do the trick, I will follow up with you privately for some additional troubleshooting. Thanks.

This is wierd! My PC is in French, but I had no problem installing Sonar in English I've not tried the French version,  perhaps the offending part would come out in English! (Sorry, couldn't resist)
