Control surface Options
Im In the process in setting up another studio, I like to have a set up able to accommodate Logic, pro tools, and Sonar if needed I would consider the V-700 but for $4500 it would not be practical ,and its Sonar only , I was thinking Mackie Control, for $1200 and Rme 800 $1600 or maybe a less expensive Audio interface, This room Im setting up is more or less for interns wanting to learn to record, either Midi/vst or live instruments,. Any suggestions?

How fluent you are in understanding the different DAW systems. As a comparison, try to teach your interns how to integrate two other well known DAW systems. It won't get any easier.

My only issue is protools and finding a suitable interface , for all, Pro tools , Logic, and Live, The Mackie Control seems the way to go, as far control surface, where I live all the studio's and Producer's I know either use Logic if there recording Dance, and Protools for Pop < Hip hop & RnB and for live music everyone I know use's pro tools.. I use sonar So My setup is there if needed so if anyone could give me suggestions on audio interfaces awesome.. The purpose of this is to have a place for a few to learn and some to rent to pay rent, and a place to jam . If I was to stay with sonar only I would have 1 person, Me . So this is why I setting up another system.
