SoundFonts for Sonar 8.5 LE

I'm going to be making some fantasy animations, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to get and organize some sound 'effects' like doors closing, footsteps, sword clanks, wind blowing, etc.

I came across SoundFonts the other day but I think the program involved was specifically for SoundBlaster cards.   Does anyone know if SoundFonts offers the fantasy related sounds I'm looking for?  Is Sonar LE compatible with these?  Do you essentially assign sounds to varied notes on your keyboard / midi device? 

Any recommendations about SoundFonts or other sources would be welcome.  I'm pretty new to the audio side of things and just upgraded from Sonar 6LE to 8.5 LE.

    they are assigned to the SF2 file..

    there is no such thing as 8.5 LE.. so are you sure you mean you had 4 and now have v6?!!?

    NO no Fog, he's right.......

    there is indeed 8.5LE now.  In fact its the ONLY one available now.......

    Thanks for the link to the player. Yeah 10 bux to upgrade to LE 8.5 from 6 I believe. It's working better than 6 for me.

    I wish that was true!
    I just purchased the UA-1G Audio Interface and it came with Sonar LE6 in the box .
    The whole  reason I got it was because I got a new laptop and needed it for Win 7.
    I guess (hope) they'll sort me out with an upgrade for it for free! 
    Otherwise it will have to get the 9€ upgrade I guess.
