from this post by

if you go to the top menu bar of the main MC5 window and choose INSERT>SOFTSYNTHS> then the CAKEWALK SOUND CENTERshould be listed under the 2nd line of the next menu (the options are divided between DXi and VSTi and the sound center is a VSTi in the lower portion of the menu).

yes, that should show soundcenter if it is installed properly. And I think that MC5 and all it's add ons should install properly by default if you don't change the install settings...as in customize them.

Welcome Chew & PGH.

If that doesn't work, come back with some more details.

you didn't say which Operating System you're using.  if vista 64,

first, try this:
http://www.cakewalk.com/support/kb/reader.aspx?ID=20091014

if that doesn't work, try this:
If you're running Win7 x64, you may need to add the x86 Program Files path (which is different than your normal Program Files) manually.
  1. Go to Options | Global | VST Plug-ins
  2. Click Add and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\vstplugins
  3. Once added, click the Scan VST Folders button

Hope that clears up the problem.

You can use Windows Explorer to find the location of Sound Center on your hard drive, note that address, then add that address to the list of files MC scans for VSTs.
If SC is in fact on your computer.
