Weird happenings in PE 8.5: input trim bug

So here is a puzzler:

I will be working on a mix. Changing plugs, levels, etc.

Then all of a sudden the mix goes to crap. Turns out that some plugin interaction and/or bug is killing the input trims on the entire project, making all the bus compressors completely squash the mix. Subsequent noodling with the input trims have zero effect, meaning I slide then all the way down to infinity with no change in the volume. I have to save the project, close out Sonar and then re-start it to get the  input trims to cooperate and function properly.

Any ideas?

This is a known bug (a.k.a. Bus Input Trim Bug) in Sonar 8.5.1 which has already been fixed in the upcoming update.

If I remember correctly, the workaround for now is to either restart the project or reseting each Bus' trim level.

James, the bug shows itself after bouncing or freezing any track. And, as Jose said, you just have to close and re-open the project to get the trim controls back.

However, I've just gone into my projects and set all the bus input trims to zero. It's easier than restarting the project every time I bounce a clip. Nearly all my busses have plugins that feature their own input trims, so I just set them to whatever my bus trim used to be.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
