Are These Connections Correct?

The USB connected to a PC is for the audio and the MIDI is connected for ACT and use as a control surface? So, if I don't want to use the VS-100 as a sound card dongle, I can just connect the MIDI and if I don't want to use the unit as a control surface I only need to connect USB. Do I have that right or do I always need to connect the USB AND MIDI?

Thanks--just got the unit a couple days ago--still orienting myself. The fewer cables, the better.

You only need a USB connection to use the VS100 for both PC audio and control surface.

Really? Then I guess I don't know what the MIDI connections are for?

the MIDI I/O is for attaching an older keyboard or sound module that doesn't have USB to the VS-100.
