Need Help Recording Reverb in Monitor, But NOT Record Reverb
In stand alone mode, I want to record an overdub of vocals over the "BG" which is the instruments and hear the reverb (FX) but not record them. How do I set that up? I can't seem to figure it out and can't find it in the manual. Many thanks,

You could set up a seperate reverb FX bus, send your track signal to it, I think this will allow you to hear the fx but not record? Must try it later.

Sorry--I left out that I am referring to stand-alone mode--not with Sonar. Can that be done? I do this all the time using SaviHost, a free program. You run it and it makes VSTeffects standalone, and independent of Sonar. And, there are plenty of free VST effects that should do what you are after.

I am talking about using the unit on location and not connected to any computer.

So, you are recording, but not using a computer? In that case you can try a mixer that has reverb, and other effects. You plug your mics into that and it should have ways to monitor and not send what you monitor out to the recorder. That means hardware reverb is what you seem to want.

Nokey, I think razor wants to use the VS100 built in reverb to get a better monitor "feel" but not actaully record it, strange that no-one from CW has responded to this yet?

I do not know if it is possible but you can try this. If you look on page 56 of the hardware manual you can see that the reverb is applied to the buss previous to the main mix. Set the WAV-REC source to "1-2" page 55. Whether it works (you can hear the reverb through the headphones but not record it) or not depends on how the device is hardwired. Both WAV-REC source “MIX” and “1-2” would have to remain actively connected to the source when you choose REC source "1-2".

[SOLVED] It works. I didn't have to change anything, so I don't know what I did to make it record the first time, but I never record anything wet.
