Rapture & Dim Pro browser don't work

According to the product manuals, clicking on the program name will cause the browser to appear. The manual continues to instruct that, when the browser is open, to navigate to the folder where the programs are stored.

In my system, when I click on the program name, the browser appears, but it is blank. I cannot figure out how to use the browser to navigate. No control action in the browser (e.g. right clicking, left clicking, or whatever) causes anything to happen. The only way I can load programs is to use the "program handling" button.

How can I get the browser to work?

thanks

Keith

Hit F5 to refresh the browser window.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

F5 did nothing; the browser window is always blank, even though I can scroll through the programs in the program bar, and select programs in the "program handling" function.

what Tom suggested rebuilds the list (and works most of the time)... are you using vista or xp? and service packs?

I mean were they working previously and you have added something?

they are normally off documents and settings\application data in XP and off "Program Data" in vista and your logged in under admin account?

    try installing Muz3um

thats for rapture.. start rapture or LE ... press f5 if nothing shows.... it uses the default location to install them. Maybe something isn't right with your registry key for the multi samples / programs

see if that works in both Rapture and LE. if it works in LE, it points to maybe a registry key being wrong.. you don't have any registry scanners etc? that might wipe that entry.

if your comfortable at looking at the registry, have a look at (disclaimer : I take no responsibility , you do it at your OWN risk) >

for the keys to look for , before editing (if you do) always make a backup of it though.

If that process fails you, do a search of your hard drive(s) for the programs.lst file.
Depending on your Folder Options settings (assuming Windows, under Control Panel), it may be a hidden file.

You'll see a 'programs.lst' entry for every newer [Cakewalk] synth. In a typical XP installation, the ones for DimPro & Rapture will be here:
    C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Programs
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Cakewalk\Rapture\Programs

In Vista, look to the ProgramData folder.

Rename both DimPro's/Raptures' program.lst files (for example, 'temp_programs.lst').
Open up each synth in turn, and click on the slot that opens up the Program Browser.
Give it a few moments, as the entire list of programs is being refreshed.
