Hi-
Maybe you emailed short posts. Long posts always were truncated with a link to the thread under the old system.

No, not here. I have lots of long posts that I've kept, and I never had a post truncated before the forum revamp.

Thanks-

-Susan

A really weird thing with truncated posts is when I got the email with the post I'm now replying to. The quote Susan G made is in the email, and her thanks at the end of the post, but the sentence of "No, not here. I have lots of posts that I've kept, and I've never had a post truncated before the forum revamp" was missing from the email. Following on with this missing of stuff weirdness is that sometimes when there's quoted text and if a reply to that quote the only thing that shows in the email notification is the quoted text.

Another strange thing I'm seeing here is that posts I get via e-mail are all truncated. I used to be able to see the complete posts in my subscribed threads.

Hi Susan,

Sorry I missed this earlier (to many threads on the same topic!!!)

I adjusted the character cut-off limit for outbound e-mails, so you should get it all now.

Best,

Dear Willy,

" Reply to message Message Options

Why can't I use [tags] when I draft a message - 1 hrs. ago ( #1 )

The "act like a trained monkey" method of adding rich content to the posts is a real turn off?

Why can't I use an OPTIONAL and traditional method of using [tags] to add rich content to the messages? If the syntax for this forum software is different... I can easily relearn it... if the OPTION is made available.

I feel that the "purty button" and input in the floating layer method... and the subsequent pain should an edit be required... and the fact that content like an image completely fills the tiny little (and yes I have selected the full page opiton) input panel adds up to a complete waste of time and presents a total turn-off to some end users.

It's like someone just read "Facebook for Dummies" and implemented all the worst of the good ideas.

best regards,
mike

The above screen shot is actually 1440x900 pixels but is being displayed at a width of 800 pixels.

This is disappointing news.

All images are constrained to 800 pixels.

Which means you will never see a "actual" size tutorial on this iteration of the forum.

I suggest that this is a BIG TIME DOWNGRADE.

best regards,
mike

Thanks Willy -- seems to be fine now.:)

One problem I find is that the "in reply to xxxxx" no longer seems to be appended to a reply when you click on reply to message. Makes following the thread much more difficult when there are interposed replies.

Agree!  As far as the interface goes (as opposed to functionality), this is for me the most disappointing aspect of the new look.
