OUTPUTS AND POWER DOWN HELP REQUIRED

Having recently bought the 100 I think I've managed to get my head round most things now for a 65 yr old except for a couple of things which I hope someone can help me with. Here goes;
1) Is there any way on playback of a Sonar project or wav recorder  you can route the sound to all outputs at the same time. I can only get mine to come out via output 1/2, that is to say if I output 1/2 to my monitor speakers, outputs 3/4 and 5/6 seem to have no playback which I thought it did in order to route to a 3rd party recorder or something else etc. I would like to have playback through all outputs at the same time.
2) Is there any way to unlink or disconnect from the computer to play the WAV recorder without keep taking out and putting back the USB cable every time.
Many thanks,
Tony

Hi Tony,

Age is not a factor, so don't worry about that.

You can route to all outputs simultaneously in Sonar VS.  Go to the Console view where you will see three sections.  The left has the project tracks, the middle has buses, and the right should show the three stereo outputs of the VS-100.  By default, your project probably has one bus called Master.  Normally all tracks that you want to hear should flow into the Master bus and this bus should have its output sent to the main outs (Ch 1/2) of the VS-100 on the right section.

One way to send the master to all three outputs is to create two new sends on the Master bus.  Click on the Send + icon to create a new send.  On the first new send, set it to ouput to Ch 3/4 and on the second, set it to Ch 5/6.  Make sure that both new sends are set for Post Fader so that the Master bus fader will control all outputs.

In Wav recorder mode, you can only playback to ch 1/2.  If you look at the block diagram, you'll see that wav playback is connected only to channels 1/2.

I don't think that there's a way to shift between the Wav and Daw modes without disconnecting the USB cable.  The VS-100 switches into Daw mode automatically when it senses that the USB is connected to a computer.

Hi Murray,
Thanks again for your advice it works a treat. I'm envious as I keep seeing your 'Sunny San Diego' location. Here in the UK we've had a rotten winter so far but looking sunny on the V-100 front.
Cheers Tony
