Need help: Can't register 3rd Party MFX Plugins

I'm having trouble installing my 3rd party MFX plugins on my new computer.  I'm running Sonar Producer 8.5 under Windows 7 (64-bit).  The plug-ins I'm trying to install are the TenCrazy MIDI CC Mapper and the full version of MusicLab's VeloMaster.  I use both pretty regularly...  Far more often than I use Cakewalk's MFX...  And dread the thought of working without them!

Here's what I have tried:

1)  Placing both .dll's in the "Shared MIDI Plugins" folder
2)  Registering them using regsvr32 in an Adminstrator command prompt.  I tried using TenCrazy's shell extensions to register them, but got errors.

I get messages indicating that they have been registered successfully, but then they don't show up in the FX bin or the plug-in manager.
Relevant threads I found in the forum, but ultimately haven't helped:
http://forum.cakewalk.com...5&high=mfx+install
http://forum.cakewalk.com...7&high=mfx+install
http://forum.cakewalk.com...4&high=mfx+install

Any help would be appreciated!

P.S.
I also installed the Sonar UTILS by Bruce Ennis, but it didn't seem to recognize my Sonar installation and I couldn't make changes to my Tools menu...  Help on this would be appreciated as well!

Are you running the 64-bit Sonar under 64-bit Windows? If so, you can't run the old 32-bit MFX. You have to install the 32-bit Sonar to run 32-bit MFX.

Which would probably mean I couldn't then load my 64-bit plug-ins, such as Kontakt, right?  I'm pretty sure I only installed the 32-bit version of that.  What a headache!  I wish there were some sort of bitbridge for MFX.

There isn't some simple solution like running some sort of LAA type program to magically transform the MFX plugs to something Sonar 64 can recognize is there?  I can't imagine why anything MIDI related would need 64 bits anyway!

Blame Microsoft for your dilemma. They're the ones who decided that we all needed to migrate to 64 bits and leave all our existing software behind.

A possible solution may be to run 32-bit SONAR and use JBridge to run your 64-bit plugins within it.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    Curse you, Microsoft!

Actually, this is exactly what I've been doing for the past few days, with no trouble.  The MFX plugins showed up as soon as I installed the 32-bit version, as did the menu items from Sonar Utils.  Thanks!

I talked to people at TenCrazy about updating their plugins to x64 versions.
    http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?high=&m=1876941&mpage=1#1877297
I got a tip that maybe use a mfxshell.dll dx wrapper and see if it works. I have not tried yet.

But he wanted feedback how it goes and he would probably look into x64 versions.

EDIT: Since VST does not work so well in Sonar we probably should feedback to markleford that x64 version would be very much appreciated.

That's right.... we should still be running DOS so my old Tetris program would work. How dare they change the status quo! Harumpf!

Yes, I miss my Tetris too.

Are there any good up to date versions for todays machines?

Or are they only poor copies of the original.
