I loooove the fact that I can showcase different envelopes so I only effect that one- so many times I have had a volume and pan envelope on top of each other and had to zoom in crazy to get the one I wanted - loving this!

Cool.

Question:  Will the plugin browser be able to display ALL the plugins installed on your system?  Or will it have the same issue of only being able to display a certain number of plugins like the current plugin menu?

The ProChannel Gloss EQ is in addition to the Sonitus EQ.

If you load a project that has the Sonitus channel EQ and you try to enable the ProChannel EQ, it will ask you if you want to switch to the ProChannel EQ instead for that channel.

The EQ is very intriguing - nice!

Hi Brandon

Was it my imagination  or  miss-sight, but was that a  new  Compressor / Gate  you dragged over from the browser in the video  ?

All the best.

Hi Brandon,

What are the specs of the laptop you were using for the demo?

Seems to be optimized for SX1!

Thanks.

The only think Im kinda worried about is the waveform update feature. Although adding a fade to the end or beginning of a track and instantly seeing how much you applied is awesome i never saw it done with any volume automation envelopes. Since the only automation envelope that would benefit from a instantly updating waveform is volume having that would make manual leveling really easy.

I've pondered that a bit, and I came to the conclusion that attempting to visually express the effects of automation in the waveforms would often be somewhere between misleading and impossible. For one thing, the effects you're automating can be pre-or post fader, or at different places in the effects chain. Beyond the basic clip level, there's a lot of ambiguity about what automation is creating what sonic result.

There's surely a solution to this, but my gut tells me it's not simple. Perhaps an option to switch between the normal waveform view and the bus-style "draw what's actually happening" bus preview thing would be good to have on tracks.

Good points on complexity issues. Waveform display would work fine with simple things like clip trim and fades or whatever, but displaying other intra-pipeline stuff would be confudulating, IMO... This was discussed briefly a while back where somebody posted a video of a PT session where the guy chopped up a track and raised/lowered the gain on each clip and the change was displayed visually... The topic of waveform preview came up at the time, and I agree that having a configurable inline preview waveform might be cool... would require CPU cycles to generate the preview though, so maybe it's of limited use, unless you REALLY needed it for a particular track. Or maybe you just limit it to pre-FX or something.

I have to agree with you Lance... I might actually start using the console view now, and that new inspector looks really useful, neither of which I've used in the last 7 years... no more window flippety floppity and shifting the large transport around the screen...

Hi Vic,

It's a Dell M4400. Basically a quad core with 4gb of RAM and a 7200RPM drive. I've had it for a few years now and I'm sure the newer i5 and i7s would best it.

The best thing about it though is that it has a 15" widescreen that does 1920x1200.

Nice video, but I saw one strange thing right after you finished moving AS transients of the kick drums tracks and went to MIDI track and selected and cut out a short piece of the MIDI track. You then set a fade-out on the original clip but the fade out was created also on the newly cut clip... why?

Best Regards,
Marek

Requirements call for SP3 because of the png support.
