PC Insert Module lobby thread........ Please join....

I put a feature request in for an insert module for the PC. See a wording below you can cut & paste if you wish.

PC Module Insert: I would like to be able to insert this module into the PC, it would send the signal to the FX bin and then return it from there back to the point it left the PC. Just like a real console insert with a Y cable. Ideally I'd also like to be able to set the signal FX bin entry & exit points and have more than one instance available. This would allow endless routing possibilities. Thanks

I've seen several threads asking for the same sort of thing, if anyone else would like to see it please put in a feature request. It has been said on here by CW staff the more requests there are the more likely it is to happen. So please take a couple of minutes to cut & paste the text above (or write your own of course) into a feature request. Found here http://www.cakewalk.com/S...ct/featurerequest.aspx

Thank you..............

    What about "add module" fx bin. This goes into PC and then can be filled with VSTs. ProChannel modules can be placed either side and more fx bins (could even look like the current ones) could be added.

    I like your thinking Karl, but given the current modus operandi of Cakewalk, if it does happen - it will probably work in a different way.

    How about - a new PC module called 'Fx Bin', from where you can insert any vst you have on your system. It will be fully draggable inside PC to any position you want.

    And they can charge a nominal £9 for loyal users.......

    Yeah, they'd both effectively do the same thing. Feature request that idea it amounts to be able to do the same thing, which is all I want really, more routing control.

    In a previous forum topic I thought someone not only thought of the Fx bin as a PC module but actually made a graphical mockup of what it would look like. Being able to drag the Fx bin inside of the PC modules in any order you like I think is better than a send and return. Just seems more elegant.

    I wish I could figure out what topic had that graphic. That was such a good idea.

    Can we please have a "NEW-GUI Rack "in Pro Channel as a new module that are empty-"FXs bin RACK".
    In the new "FXs bin RACK" you can insert 3 part plugins. You can use how many inserted "FXs bin RACK" modules as you like in Pro Channel.

    Routing should be like today with all other Pro Channel modules. Routing start from the top to the bottom of the Pro Channel.

    Example:

    ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

        -- PC  1176--

    -- "FXs bin RACK"--      -----------> 3part insert

    -- "PC Soft Tube Amp" --

    -- "PC Gloss EQ" --

    -- "FXs bin RACK"--    -----------> 3part insert

    -- "PC Tube" --

    :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

    I predicted this back in December 2010.

    Back when I was realizing that ProChannel was the dumbest idea that I had ever seen Cakewalk execute.

    The big news this year is going to be dongle free 64bit Waves and the FX bin rocking the best of breed.

    Trying to understand the feature better, can a work around be done, with the expenses of having more buses ?

    bus 1 <Fx Pc> bus 2 <Fx Pc> ..bus3

    where <Fx Pc> can be either order, depending on prochannel post/pre setting.

    Yes that's a perfectly workable scenario, but wouldn't it be better, and much easier to trace things through if they're all under the control of the PC?

    Did it! I sent in the form.

    FWIW - I'd love to see the FX Bin as a PC module and that we could use at least two on the same channel. That way we could use the FX bin space on each channel for another send level or something usefull.

    I must be missing something. PC and FX Bin are specifically not designed to work together because they perform the same function. If they worked together like one big FX bin, why would you need both?
