Hit a snag during install, need help... How do I tell what is corrupted? ?

I got an error that says:

C:\Cakewalk Content\Audio Library\Loops\Sample Megic\Electro House\eh_syn_125\arping_E.rx2

An error oocurred while trying to copy a file: the source file is corrupted.

Click retry to try again, ignore to skip (this is not recommended), or Abort to cancel installation.

I tried "retry", it didn't work. I don't want to about, not installing is not an option. Any ideas?

edit: Should I just skip? I don't forsee ever needing an Electro House loop, or is this s symptom of a biger problem.

Also I downloaded everything, I had to change the name of the 4 x2 files by adding a .exe to the end to get them to run. If I did it wrong I can abort, rename and then try again... Help needed.

see below...

Thanks,

Julien

That's a Rex file and definitely safe to skip. Worst case if you decided you wanted that particular loop, you could always track it down and install it separately. Chances are you've got the same loop in a directory for one of your earlier versions of SONAR (I would check X1) already

Try skipping if it's just the one Rex file then you won't have to worry.

If you get lots of them then the download is likely corrupt.

Well, I skipped 50 rex files now, sample magic now. Not sure what to do or what might be corrupt or how to find or or how to fix it...

    *sigh__

if its your loops i wouldnt be too concerned.
id download just that section again later on and install it right on top of what you got.
there not system files,no sweat it.
your download is probably (the loops download section)corrupt.

Do I just keep ignoring one after another or is there a quicker way. Will abort stop the wole install? I really do not need these loops... but I don't know what to do that wont break everything.

    Thanks,

I aborted and deleted the Loops and one shots part 1... maybe it will install not. It is wanting to extract all the folders again, I think I am missing something simple.

Don't bother installing that particular file.

Get your X2 working and redownload the Loops and One shots file again at some point.

They are just loops and one shots I guess there won't be anything there that will impact on the X2 setup.

You can add that stuff piecemeal if you want to after you've got the X2 part 1 thru 4 setup and working lovely.

I will have to delete the 3 loops and one shot files because the X2 installer is trying to install everything... Thanks, will do.

It is always something, I wish I had started really trying to learn this when I was younger.

    Really... thanks, I appreciate it.

Ryan posted a list of what could be installed seperately.  I'll see if I can find it.

I think if you don't have the loops in the same directory as the main installer (i.e move them somewhere else for now) it won't install them and you can just click cancel when/if it asks for them.
