Dimension Pro Program crashes X2
Hi I have observed a weird (but reproducible) issue: When using Dimension Pro with program "08 - Guitars/Almost Together" playing for half a minute crashes Sonar X2. The weird thing is that this doesn't seem to happen with other Dimension Pro sound programs (I used a lot of them for longer playing times), but it also happens when using the standalone version of Dimension Pro. Anybody observed something like that before? Could it be that this particular Dimension Pro sound is corrupt?

Oh yes, well documented on the forum that certain patches on Dim Pro will crash SONAR. Search around and you may find a solution. In my case it;s loops that contain rex files (not all) just a few that will lock up my machine.

Huh. Dimension just crashed X2A. Hope this is a passing Dim Pro anomaly...

Since it's just a particular sound (which I don't favour but happened to bump into), I'll make a mental note to stay away from this one. I'll also make sure to save before starting sound exploration with Dimension Pro.

lol weird. Mine locked up with that patch at 24 secs in @ 64 bit, but was fine in 32 bit. Go figure. Agree: avoid in 64 bit

Since it is reproducible on other computers I filed a problem report: Your report number is as follows: CWBRN-14376

I was playing around with various Dimension Pro patches tonight and it crashed my audio driver. When I tried to kick it back in, via the Sonar control bar, the program gave me a (Not Responding)...

I've always found patch browsing in Sonar leads to an eventual lock up. I hoped getting my new beast (pc) would make a difference but it didn't. Grum.

I just tried the patch that caused this thread. In the standalone version it closes down Dim Pro (64) after about six notes. In X2a it locked up Sonar in about 30 seconds. Clever stuff. Grum.

Jeff M indicated that this might just be a 64 bit issue. Anyway, nowadays everybody is on 64bit. So I hope Cake will look into this problem report that I filed. It's not so much that I'd need that particular sound patch, but having to be afraid of it crashing anytime makes me reluctant to use Dimension Pro much in serious work.

To all - this is a glitch with this particular preset, that can be FIXED by changing a parameter value for the preset. Here is the forum link to the thread from August that explains what to do: http://forum.cakewalk.com...?m=2074837&mpage=1 Hope this helps you guys - it's a nice patch. Bob Bone
