Is using X2a with no crashes or (for me) reproducible bugs cheating?
{tongue in cheek} I feel so left out of the discussions. Sort of like I'm cheating. {/tongue in cheek}

Insert Rewire device. Select any stereo input above inputs 1/2. Note input is 2 ch. mono. HTH

Cut and paste an assortment of audio clips from one track to another using an assortment of blend, replace, snap settings etc. See how long you can do that before any weirdness occurs.

Why are take lanes only partially implemented at this stage? Nobody will believe me on this until X3 comes out and you see what they should work like.

If you move a one measure clip from one track to another that has a vacant measure with clips on either side does the clip to the left disappear when you insert it?

I am running vista x2a and everything works for me .... Except I can't drag and drop midi data out of ez drummer ... But I can drag and drop midi data out of the browser which is easier .... Other than that I have ran into no bugs Then again I use sonar as a tape machine mostly and not so much on the midi end .... So Yes I did say vista .... A system that is quad core 2.2 amd and 4 gigs of ram on vista if you can believe it it ? You had better believe it Summer I plan on upgrading the computer to an i7 with at least 3ghz and windows 8 ... So don't hate On me k ? I have plans that bring me current ok ? Ok? Ok! Ok?

Try loop recording a section of midi on a project with some midi and audio data already in place. Try it in a few different parts of the song, with or without a rewired app present. How long does the timing work properly before everything comes adrift. (Note put a brickwall limiter on your final bus before moving loop points whilst playing, in case you hear a sound like someone just dropped the cutlery drawer.)

So....what are your system specs? i2700, 16GB PC1600 Mushkin, ASUS P8P67 Pro MOBO, Gigabyte HD 5450 Fanless Video Do you use any Spectrasonics stuff and if so what? Nope Do you try to perform any functions while audio and midi tracks are playing? Since I know SONAR does not have gapless engine I see no reason to do that (except sometimes I do live on the edge and it works). I'll take a breath....and oh yeah....a step back lol. See above.

Not cheating, just lying. Does the fact that V7 was the worst Sonar version for me, and I now use X2 mean I'm cheating? Should I go back?

The quality issue is certainly not new it just reached an all time low, or rather just became more obvious, when X1 came out. Try some of my recipes Karl see what happens, those are just the things in 8.5 that were confirmed still flaky in X1, I wonder if they're fixed now, they're all confirmed, known issues. I could continue with many more, but I'm bored. But if you guys are happy to operate within the constraints the lack of reliability imposes on you I'm OK with that...just don't say it don't have 'em, or you don't have any reproduceable issues. there's plenty to choose from when you have a go at reproducing them. Some of 'em it's had for years, even preceding 7 all confirmed as unexpected behaviour and many still not addressed or looking likely to be.

Some of 'em it's had for years, even preceding 7 all confirmed as unexpected behaviour and many still not addressed or looking likely to be. I don't think I've ever denied there are bugs, just most of them don't affect me and when they do, I post a bug report, find a work round and get on with it. I've never been that bothered by that sort of stuff. If I was I'd have moved on a long while ago. I think the only bug that has ever stopped me from doing something with no workround was being able to print from the staff view which was an X1 bug IIRC. Even the infamous "snap" bug in X1 that stopped some working was easily sorted. Open the PRV and don't close it fixed that one. I am a simple easily pleased soul though. Anyway what's happening down here, this is supposed to be the CH or is a X1/X2 forum takeover on the cards?

The bugs, crashes or whatever problems I had didn't stop me either. Proof. -X2a 64 bit Didn't want to miss the plug oppertunity LOL. If my car has a flat it doesn't stop me from running the air or music.....and plenty of guesses why it's flat.....but it's still flat.....I hope this weekend I'm not re-installing a flat. lol

Oh, it was just someone starting an ill-concieved thread parodying the title of another ill-concieved thread, stating they couldn't find anything reproducible. So I said "reproduce this!" in my usual carefree manner. Next thing we ended up here.

Hi Bapu ... I'm genuinely interested in this. I ready your original post, haven't had time to read the replies. My wife is home today, we're getting the car and tax stuff taken care of today. Nightmare. I've come to the realization that your experience greatly depends on your workflow. Basically ... avoidance of issue's is key. I'm glad it's working for you ... it's been working very well for me too again after installing the A patch. I have run in to things, but they are avoidable, and I can easily work around them. Had a couple scares ... (Doh!) but were easily worked out do to better working habits (avoidance of problems).

HoBoy it got serious here all of a sudden. It was joke and only partially serious. Take particular note of "(for me) reproducible" in the thread title. FWIW: Danny and I had a conversation about 64 vs 32 bit X2a where he cited a problem with the Cori Yarkin Floating demo on his 64bit Jim Roseberry machine. He said he could not run the demo even once with 64 sample buffers in 64bit X2a without problems. I loaded it up and played the demo three full times back-to-back. No problems. Bub cited a "hidden track" bug he discovered (in another thread) that I posted a vid of my understanding of his scenario and the bug did not happen (for me). <update: I did confirm what Bub was saying. It required multiple folders. I had only made one folder.> I'll be the first to admit that I use X2a in a "limited" feature set. I do a little more MIDI than Mooch, but not by far. I probably should be bound, gagged and given 40 lashes for this parody fred. I'll see if I can jump in on Billy's next apology fred (if I can be arsed to find it) and allude to an apology there. C'mon, lighten up. This is the CH, no?
