Problem with the PRV in Sonar Platinum

The way to select all notes of a key was to hit the piano key for that note.  This no longer works. Can others reproduce this? This is to move all the notes to a different note. For drums this is a very important feature.

Seems to work OK for me. Just created a project to test it out.

Doesn't seem to be working here, either, John.

I will have a play around after I finish teaching.

Just to be sure I tried moving notes in the PRV of X3 and it works as it has always worked. I can't do it in Sonar Platinum.

I believe one difference in our setups is OS. I am on Win7 64bit.
I tried both a new project and one made in X3e. Single key and a range of keys in the PRV select and move OK.

I'm not just talking about selecting but moving too. It selects just fine but wont move the full selection just one note.

    John,

I'm 99% certain I did that last night in Platinum (TBH I still jump between Plat and X3). Not at the DAW until tonight.

Yes, I did select and move a single note row and range of notes. Moving with the SHIFT key held down and without the SHIFT key. The full row(s) moved.

Perhaps Drum Maps are involved? I've already logged on issue on PRV with Drum Maps.

FWIW I can't use the PRV in Platinum for my current work - I've been using X3.

I'm not seeing this.  Running Platinum here and clicking key selects then moving cursor over to the selected notes shows the + where you can click and drag the selection up and down.

Is the clip data locked?  That would exclude the move tool.
Also make sure you have the move or smart tool selected.

Works ok for me. I've been editing drums today and grabbing whole rows in the usual way, by depressing their key.

Its not working as it should. I get the move tool but it will only move the one note. I do use shift along with the move tool. I think its not selecting any note/notes with the piano key or drum name hit/pressed.

Normally the selection should turn on a color difference. In this case red. That is not happening. Only the one note's color changes. Nothing is locked.

I've tried this with AD 2 and BFD3 same problem.

I'm confused; your original post seemed to indicate that select by clicking the keyboard was not working. The above seems to say select is working but move is not. In that case, I'd be with Keith in suspecting the clip is locked

I don't know what is working or not.  As in the past I click a key on the PRV left piano and it will globally select all the notes in that lane.  But now I'm not sure if its even selecting.

The problem is I don't know which it is. I'm beginning to think its not selecting anything. That is why when I attempt to move the lane of notes only one note is moving.

What type of track/Instrument/MIDI data are you experiencing this problem with, John?

I have had a play around with this.

    Steps:
    1) Start Sonar X3e
    2) Ctrl+N to open a new project.
    3) Insert Add Drums 2 as a S.I.T.
4)Drag a clip from Add Drums2 "Beats" window onto S.I.T. (Track)
    4) Open PRV
    5) Left Mouse Click a note on "Keyboard" on left hand side of track.

    Expected:
All notes on that note are selected (go dark colour).

Notes on that key (C3) are selected/highlighted/go dark.

    Steps:
    1) Start Sonar Platinum
    2) Ctrl+N to open a new project.
    3) Insert Add Drums 2 as a S.I.T.
4)Drag a clip from Add Drums2 "Beats" window onto S.I.T. (Track)
    4) Open PRV
    5) Left Mouse Click a note on "Keyboard" on left hand side of track.

    Expected:
All notes on that note are selected (go dark colour).

Notes on that key (C3) are not selected/ not highlighted/stay the same colour.

Notes entered in PRV on other soft synths do not exibit this behaviour.  It appears o be related to dragging "clips" from AD2 or EzD2 onto a track, whether SIT or MIDI track.

Even dragging a clip from a AD2 track to another softsnth track (e.g. lounge Lizzard) exhibits the same behaviour.

I seem to have the same issue but there is good news. It appears to be a matter of zoom. If I change the zoom it will work. This is also with the new update 21 00 01 build 254 X64.

I'm happy now. Smiley faces for all.

I know you have the same issue - I was responding to your thread, and starting new projects to investigate your issue..

I was downloading the update as I explored why some people saw this, and some didn't, but guess that I am not the only one (it is slower today)..

I did try playing around wit the zoom level, but did not see an improvement.

I was zooming the wrong way..

I had tried zooming in and out horizontally.

Once you zoom vertically, the selection works, and will continue to work even if zoomed out again, for anyone else who comes across this.

I wonder why it only seems to affect clips dragged in from AD, EzD etc.?

Hopefully I can spend a little time playing around with it tomorrow.  It matters little now that we know that there is a simple work-around.
