Change screenset reverts Event List to default
Despite locking contents in EL, with specific items to be viewed (for instance, hide controllers) every time I change screenset, the Event List reverts to display all. Like the PRV Controller pane defaults, the default is not a useful setting, and it certainly is not pleasant to get it, and be forced to change it, over and over. Bug, darn it, not feature request.

Please stop posting these directly to the Problem Reports forum. That is not the protocol Cakewalk wants followed, and this has been communicated before. I am going to move this back to the Sonar forum for now, until the issue gets confirmed by at least one more user, a CWBRN gets generated and attached, and someone will need to check the documentation to see if it describes the behavior that is supposed to take place for this. The reported behavior is reproducible. Saving and re-opening a project also causes the Event List filter settings to revert to the default, so the behavior is not restricted to Screensets. Out of curiosity ran Sonar 8.5 and found that the Event List filter settings are also not saved between sessions. Couldn't find anything in the reference documentation that specifies whether the filter settings should be persisted or not. Screenset scenario Steps: 1. Open Event List view on a track that contains MIDI data. 2. De-select "Notes" using the View menu. [Event List displays everything except Notes] 3. Lock screenset. 4. Change screenset. 5. Return to locked screenset. [The location of all screens is returned correctly. The Event List now displays everything.] Save and re-Open scenario Steps: 1. Open Event List view on a track that contains MIDI data. 2. De-select "Notes" using the View menu. [Event List displays everything except Notes] 3. Save and Close project. 4. Reopen project. [The location of all screens is returned correctly. The Event List now displays everything.]

Screensets are barely even usable for me- they never remember the state of hidden and shown tracks- it's a fairly constant mess of whatever it feels like opening up, based on who knows what. While this is irritating, it's not a show stopper- just something that should work as described.

That's strange. I have no problem with screensets "remembering" the status of hidden/visible tracks. Make sure you make your changes to an unlocked screenset, then lock it. This applies to you williamcopper as well.

I'm using X3 so this may not apply to the current version, but I keep losing snap settings in PRV when I change screensets.

Soooo - this post has been sitting idly for about a week now - @Williamcopper - please consider submitting through the problem report process, and edit your first post of this thread to add in the generated CWBRN number, such as: {CWBRN - 12345] This bug is etc... I have now made 2 requests for this thread to be run through the problem report generation process - with the first request made a week ago. This is per the forum guidelines, and will help the Cakewalk folks when they review things to evaluate for potential maintenance resources to be assigned - I am only trying to help YOU help THEM, so that YOU can hopefully see this issue resolved in as timely a fashion as possible.
