Staff view sucks

Does anyone else find the staff view essentially unusable for creating notation?  This has been a consistent problem with every version of Sonar I have used - quite a few now.  I would love to move my notation into Sonar.  Instead I am forced to use a separate program and import via MIDI, truly a kludge.  Is there any hope of Cakewalk giving this some attention in my lifetime?
