Good for them. The coffee house is pretty similar to the army in this respect. We only seem to have two badass women here :)

Hi,
I'm not sure that it proves anything, but for a place that thinks that men are superior and that women have nothing to offer, that is a specially great sight to see ... although it just tells you how one sided the whole thing is ... because I am pretty sure they should be man enough to do somethings that women can do easily and dance on their finger with, which men can't do!
I specially get tired of the "men" thing in music ... and the control in so many music studios owned by men, and women not being active participants, not to mention the media using women as doll/sex symbols, and then saying they can't sell enough consistently.
Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!

As someone who needs a full day to recover after mowing my lawn, I have nothing but respect for anyone who can become an Army Ranger. Park Ranger doesn't have quite the same panache, but that's beside the point. Any woman who overcomes the cultural and physical challenges to claim this title is truly remarkable. The fact that she can break my face off with her little finger is a bit disquieting, but I'll try to keep my distance.
Not having served in the military myself, I can't really talk about gender bias in elite military groups, but I understand that breaking into the boy's club is a huge accomplishment. Breaking into the Coffee House, on the other hand, is usually the result of questionable life choices and a really bad GPS. The door isn't even locked. In the summer, we prop the door open to let the stench out. It likes to run free. Well, it oozes. Okay, it forms a gelatinous slime that glows in the dark, clogs the gutters, and causes sewer rats to spontaneously combust.
Where was I? Oh, yeah. I don't know why more women don't visit.

I think it's a little like the "play area" at the mall. You know, it's the place where you can let your kids run around, climb on things, and act like children while you sit on a bench and hold your wife's purse? Yeah, it's like that. I think some of us have been parked here to stay out of the way while others go take care of the important things. When we're needed again, or when someone is told that they have to take us home, they'll let us know.

I am in favor of more female moderators in the coffee house too. Any woman who overcomes the cultural and physical challenges to claim this title is truly remarkable. As a matter of fact, I believe we can be all moderators, even me. I don't like the military style, though. I'm not ready to obey orders from you all.
