Sonar Platinum Ipswich copy paste crash

Hi! Today, first time in my history of using Sonar Platinum, i rolled back my Sonar update. Ipswich crashed during very simple project, when i tried to copy and pastу section of my project, containing MIDI, organized in groove clips. Every time i tried to do it, it finished with crash. This is very simple operation. And very useful. So i need to roll back to previous version. There everything working fine, i checked it. Same operation went smooth in older version of Platinum. So i need to wait for newer update.

    Next time if you could give very specific steps to reproduce from a new project, we might try to see if it is reproducable. Unfortunately without this it might be difficult to fix.

    Was there anything in the windows event viewer?

    I had this happen quite often today and forwarded the errors to cakewalk. Finally got out of Sonar and rebooted. It has worked ok so far. Ipswich has really been a challenge!

    Hi. I sent my CWP file to support guy. But i can reproduce this steps here too:
    I have simple project (Glitch-IDM track for Timelapse video) with a lot of groove clips, recorded as MIDI and then transformed to MIDI groove clips. So this is my steps:
    1. Control-A for selecting all tracks
    2. Then manually selecting region from bar 9 to bar 33 painting selection area on bar rule
    3. Then - Edit-Copy
    and on this step Ipswich hanged and closed with error. Just before this error i tried to create groove clip from two of my recording and it did not created. I closed project and opened it again. After that all groove clips were created, but copy of region crashed Sonar.

    After the latest update, when I try to Copy and Paste a drum track section,  Sonar Crashes and the whole program closes.

    Yeah, I got something just like that the one time I tried to use it since update.
     
    Same deal.  Copy all tracks, nothing terribly complicated, paste, instant crash and would you like to send information to..., yes.

    Same thing happened to me when I did a cut and paste on a few midi tracks for Kontakt after update.

    Had the same thing happen.  Updated to Ipswich, copy basic midi and audio (8 measures), moved cursor to the spot I want to paste, and instant crash.  Had to roll back as well.

     I haven't seen anything like that. If it were common, the community would be having a melt-down. The Bakers will need (and this forum generally requires) a reproducible recipe - preferably using only bundled plugins - for creating a project that exhibits this problem.

    There have been copy/paste problems since platinum began ... not so immediate as you describe, but possibly related.   I've learned never to paste too often without a bounce to clip (for midi pastes) ... and a save, and if there are a lot of pastes, a reload of the project.

    Problem recognized by Technical Support and promised to be fixed in next update. This is what they said: "I was able to reproduce the issue and it looks like the problem is resolved for the next release. The issue occurs with a combination of the first instrument plugin, an empty track and copy. Any material on the track would not cause a crash. Gestures like CTRL+ Copy also do not cause the crash."

    I've seen Multiple people in other Forums on here complain about the Same Exact thing.   I'm having the same as well.  I noticed that those other people for some reason, Did Not put their Post in the "Problems Report" forum for some unknown reason...  So,  I did...  IT IS A PROBLEM.  (The other Posts I saw said they reverted back to the Cakewalk Sonar Previous Update and Everything worked Great.   So, This New Update Does Need Fixed...)

    Better and full steps to repro are needed from a new project IMHO.
    We don't know what sort of tracks (I.e. what are drum tracks?).

    I made a new track with Addictive Drums 2.   That's what I was trying to Copy and Paste.  I tried to copy a certain section to repeat it elsewhere in that track But, when I clicked Copy, Sonar Crashed and the whole program closed.

    Something about including an empty track in the copy. I still can't repro the problem based on any of the descriptions, but apparently the Bakers have it figured out based on a demo project submission by another user.
     
    Correction: I can repro now, but I had to include copying track automation in addition to deleting the MIDI content from the track for the first synth in the rack.

    Yeah, I can report this error too.
     
    1. Copying individual clips does not result in a crash. (Hold down Ctrl and click on the clips, then copy/paste them, no crash)
     
    2. Copying an area with drag-click, anything with 'empty tracks' results in a crash 100% of the time.
     
    An unfortunate (and crucial!) error, but I also have to applaud Cakewalk for the rollback feature and its ease-of-use, so no down-time at all for a power user. Glad to hear that it's being fixed.
