When should I renew platinum membership?
I noticed there is a 'pay one time' deal up until 31/12/15 on the store. (AU $175) 2 questions. Is there a standard renewal price to compare it to so we know if the deal is worth grabbing now? My 12 months runs out in Jan. So will renewing now add 12 months on top of the existing time or reset it to 12 months from the renewal date?

Ahh thanks. That answers everything. Seems I missed out on a good deal with that GOBBLE redemption code. :( Hey Cakewalk - Can I have a code to get that pricing again???? (Doesn't hurt to ask- right?)

OK - Now to complicate things. When I bought X3 I got it on Steam. When Platinum became available - I then upgraded to Platinum via the Cakewalk store. Steam is showing I can upgrade my old X3 for $99 US. ( So maybe $130 AU) As the Steam purchases are registered back to my Cakewalk account - I am assuming I can use Steam for the upgrade while keeping everything I got over the last 12 months and the time will add to my old sub. I might 'take one for the team' and try this.

Steam will work. If you order online at JRRShop.com the price is about 84 USD. It is the X3 to Platinum upgrade. The price you see is 99 usd. When you put it in the shopping cart you get another discount. Seeing that Platinum is the last version as you read from Willy, there shouldnt be a problem. I did the JRR thing and then redeemed the code that I got mailed from them. Lots of choices.

I will get the steam deal and see how it goes - I'll report back (and contact support) if for some reason things go bad.

It seems not to work - My renewal date didn't move and my old serial number is showing when I check the about tab. I have contacted support and will post when I have an answer.

Ibanez Laney So will renewing now add 12 months on top of the existing time or reset it to 12 months from the renewal date?
I am using Sonar Platinum and I was on monthly payments for all of 2015. Then on December 22 I ordered the One Time Sonar Platinum for AU$175.00 (after making my 12th monthly payment on the 17th Dec) and On December 24 my membership expiry date on my Sonar's "help about" changed to 05 Jan 2017. The status also changed to show "owned". For me, the new membership expiry date became the renewal date (or date I made the one time purchase) plus 12 months and 16 days.

I redeemed my code, but the 12 months were not added on. I contacted Josh at customer support. He told me that the 12 months were added on ,but would have to wait until the first membership ended before the date change. Then the 12 months would be automaticly be added on.

Mine still shows 1/22/2016 and I haven't heard back from support or Willy. I guess a phone call next week might be the next step?? I got the redeem code from JRRshop and tried it 2 weeks ago, PM'd Willy that day and support a couple days later. I'm on Lexington now too with Sonar Platinum.

We're you on monthly or Annual prior to placing this order with JRRshop? I was on monthly membership prior to ordering annual (for $AU175) from the cakewalk Store. Note that $AU175 was still less expensive that my monthly payments ($AU17.99) multiplied by 12 . If I remained on monthly payments, the monthly amount would have jumped to $AU26.17. This equals $AU314.04 for the year, which is why I went annual for the $AU175 that was offered on the cakewalk store. My Cleverbridge account shows my 12th monthly payment as being received by Cleverbridge on the 24th of December - which is the same day that my Sonar Platinum automatically added 12 months to my Sonar Platinum expiry date.

mixmkr paid annual
I have a hunch your roll over will occur on January 8th 2016.... (which is Jan 22 2016 minus 14 days). Of course, you could call Cakewalk to confirm. Prior to going annual, my expiry was Jan 7th 2016. After going annual, my roller occurred December 24th, 2015 (which is Jan 7 2016 minus 14 days). My membership now shows as expiring in 5th Jan 2017

We are fixing the issue where the end date doesn't show in the program until you complete your first year. That should be fixed in the next update later this month.

I've just renewed via the Cakewalk store. I was on "annual" last year, and just went to "specials" and clicked on "buy" for SONAR Platinum (not intuitive because it had the full price listed) - and it came out to £99 in the UK. This is a fair price and is equivalent to about $149. Of course, then they charge VAT - but that's not Cakewalks fault ;-) I haven't seen the date (purchased) change in "my products" at the store. Maybe that will update next week when the original year expires. I haven't loaded sONAR up yet - but I suspect the expire date won't change until the store date is updated. I'll keep you posted. It's a pretty straightforward process - although it's confusing because nobody is really telling us how to go about renewing. I'm guessing next year will be a lot smoother.

Oh well, I'm sure they'll sort us out. If the price drops next week, it shouldn't be too hard to give us a partial rebate via Paypal (if we updated through the Cakewalk Store anyway). Oh well, we live and learn... EDIT - this info really does deserve a "sticky"...

Update: I have heard back from Willy again and it seems the Steam upgrade won't really work as far as membership dates go. The upside of me buying the $99 Steam deal however is I got a new AD2 pack key for 3 kits + stuff which is worth far more than the cost of the deal. (I could refund that copy of Platinum via Steam but I'd rather keep the kits) I guess I will find out when my membership date rolls around if the Steam versions expiry date takes over. This is only one month short of my old expiry so I am not concerned about that. If the date doesn't update - For convenience I will likely just sub again via the Cakewalk site. I could stuff about for hours around uninstalling CCC/deleting registry keys/reinstalling only the Steam version but my system is very stable atm when recording/mixing and I don't really want to mess with that stuff. So the end result seems to be that I own 2 x Platinum + lots of AD2 stuff. I still get good value however it turns out. Owning Platinum twice makes me a really good customer now - amirite?
i7 2600k, 1 x Nvidia 970 + 1 x 560ti, 16GB RAM, 5TB of Spinning Thingys, Focusrite Liquid Sapphire 56 + lots and lots of cables. Sooo many cables.. I think they are breeding.
