Bank/Patch changes in Sonar

I have an Instrument Definition setup for KURZWEIL PC3K7.  All my instrument banks register.  When I assign my midi channel to play sounds from another bank my Kurzweil doesn't acknowledge the bank change.  Any suggestions??
Thanks
Carol

There are four different codings for the bank select message that Sonar can send, as configured in your Instrument Definition. If you can find the bank select coding your Kurzweil uses, maybe you can find the matching Sonar coding. There is also a slight issue of coding the bank number, depending on which bank select method. In Sonar PLatinum, that info is on page 1386 in the manual. Or in help, search for "bank select".

A complicating factor is that your KURZWEIL PC3K7 can be configured multiple ways also (page 10-9 of the PC3K Musician's Guide). You may have to experiment to line up Sonar's method with the method configured in your synth.

Most likely, though, choosing Sonar's "controller 0 only" method or "controller 32 only" method should work.

Changing Sonars Controller 0 or 32 didn't work me. I need a new brain lol!  So much I don't understand.  It was so nice with my Kurzweil PC2... everything just worked for me. :)
    Thanks

You'll need to refer to the midi implementation reference that came with your keyboard.

Make sure the ins file has the correct bank change numbers assigned. You'll need the synth manual.

Have a look at this post and the one after it.

It explains how to calculate the correct bank change numbers to enter in the ins file.
