Sonar Phone Support Not Available
I have been trying for two weeks to schedule a phone call with Sonar and it always says no agents are available. I never had trouble getting phone support before the Gibson purchase. Sometimes I would have to wait on the phone for a while, but they were always very helpful. This is another thing that makes me skeptical about the lifetime update offer. Gibson is making changes to the Sonar model and not all are positive. I have purchased each of the Platinum annual subscriptions and have been very happy with them. I know some posters will jump on me for questioning Cakewalk and say I am paranoid, but I have seen it happen too many times where a major corporation will purchase another company and then close it. I want to believe that this lifetime subscription will pay off, but I am still on the fence. Sorry for being negative, but I have been a happy Sonar user for at least 15 years dating back to Cakewalk (9 I think) and now I am seeing some changes for the worse. By the way, I will probably buy the lifetime version, just a little worried about the direction of Cakewalk

jdown I have been trying for two weeks to schedule a phone call with Sonar and it always says no agents are available.
I have checked yesterday and today, they have slots. So there was a glitch with support (weeks long). As you can see CW commented it now ( http://forum.cakewalk.com/Cakewalk-Support-Update-m3428520.aspx), so it was just a glitch and not "the end"

OK. Thanks, I'll try to be patient, but I tried again today and all agents are booked. I think I will wait until I see it available most times I check and then order the lifetime updates. Thanks again.

When I looked about 7 hours ago there were 6 call back slots available on Jun 8. It appears they have been scheduled since them.

Sorry, scook, but this is bad. Not every problem is my-hair-is-on-fire level of urgency, but I can't remember a tech issue that could wait 2 days for resolution. Certainly the last prob I had could not wait and there was indeed some degree of suffering as a result. As you know from our other thread I've been a long time supporter and paying customer but now have concerns in this area. Hopefully, things will get better.

Sorry JohnrC, I was trying to help another user. Please take my posts for what they are and not as an opportunity to bash Cakewalk.

Apologies for the double-post. Is there a delete button I'm not seeing?

Really? My post is perceived as bashing Cakewalk? Surprising if it is but if so 'twas not my intention. To reiterate, I'm a long time customer and supporter. But I do hope this forum can be used to express/discuss concerns.

I was trying the help another user with the call back system. Sure you can express yourself but I fail to see how it is going to help the OP at this time.

Perhaps if Cakewalk notes the concerns and however many people have them, changes might be warranted and not only the OP but all users can benefit.

Well, it happened again just now:
Oh no! All of our agents are booked! We're sorry about that! We'll do our best to get more times available for scheduling calls as soon as possible. Please check back soon. I think I will wait until I see some agents available before I buy the lifetime upgrade. I appreciate your help Scook, but I have never found an agent available and I have tried four or five times. Thanks.

Yes, the slots for Friday were booked a while ago. The last few days I have looked, it appears Cakewalk is opening slots for one day only, two days in the future. Waiting until 7PM Boston time will probably be too late to book a slot. If you can try closer to 10-11AM Boston time you stand a better chance.

I am completely guessing, but it would appear to me that they got a bit overwhelmed when they rolled out the support-slot protocol, and are likely going nuts trying to get things reworked in a way that meets everyone's needs as best as possible. That was what they were trying to do in the first place. If there are ANY possibilities that any issues folks are having right now can be worked through engaging with us forum folks wherever possible, MAYBE between us all, we can get some folks fixed up. While that doesn't address whatever is happening with the struggles in getting support slots working properly, it IS quite possible that some issues may well get resolved by our forum folks and the folks with issues working together on coming up with some kind of way for folks with issues to be able to continue to move forward while working on issue resolution. At least this is what I am HOPING we can all find ways to do. I am IN 100%, except during the next NBA Finals game (but I will still check on things and type and think during any timeouts) Bob Bone
