Inserting Soft Synth - No First Audio track option in dialog box

Hello, I am using Sonar X2 and when inserting a soft synth on an audio track(any plugin, doesnt matter) I am not getting the the dialog box for the VST options for First Audio track, so I can pipe the outputs to different tracks from my soft synth.

There any many other options there in that dialog box.. just not that one or anything else that seems remotely close.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,

As a rule, it is not a good idea to insert synths into an audio track FX bin. The better solutions are
    • Insert > Soft Synth from the main menu
    • Use the + in the Synth tab of the browser
    • Drag and Drop a synth from the Plug-ins tab of the browser
Any of these actions trigger display of the Insert Soft Synth Options dialog

You are correct. Inserting it from the browser allowed me to add the additional audio tracks. One question though.. Is there a way to add 3 or 4 tracks instead of ALL the audio tracks in ezdrummer outputs? I only need about 4, not 20 :)

Not with the Insert Soft Synth Options dialog. The best way to handle this situation is:
    • insert EZD using one of the all audio out options,
    • modify the plug-in and track layout as needed,
    • select the tracks (including folders and buses) and save it as a track template.

Use the track template in future projects.
