Lifetime Update Pricing

Got an email a while back stating I could get lifetime updates at 199 minus what I paid on 12/31 to renew my rolling updates. I paid $149 that day. If my math is correct, and it is, I should get the lifetime updates for $50. When I put it in the cart it is $99, not 50.  I contacted support twice on this, but a couple weeks later, still no response. I bumped it twice, but nothing. Anybody been through this like me, or does anyone have an idea whether I am just going to have to pay the 99, or will they ever get with me on the 50 dollar deal.

Thanks

Well, I have received this a few times. The last one was titled:

"A new era for Cakewalk - An Open Letter from CTO Noel Borthtwick "

    In that email it states:
    SONAR Platinum (with Lifetime Updates)
    for just $99
Right now, for just $99, you can get Lifetime Updates for SONAR Platinum. You’ll receive updates to all future versions of SONAR. You read that right. Purchase SONAR Platinum (with Lifetime Updates), and enjoy benefits like:
    • No more paying for fixes, workflow enhancements, and core feature updates
    • Always have access to the latest version of SONAR
    • Continue to enjoy our Rolling Updates
The regular price of adding Lifetime Updates to SONAR Platinum will be $199. Since you may have renewed already this year, your price will be $199 minus the amount you paid when you purchased your renewal: no more than $99.

This offer ends August 31st - act now to secure your Lifetime Updates!
Forgive the formatting, but it is pasted with HTML breaks. The point is, is that it states the regular price of the upgrades is $199 minus the amount you paid for renewal. I renewed on 12/31 and paid 149. The following week, i believe, they offered renewal for 99. I only renewed at 149 because Cakewalk said that 12/31 was the deadline, or the price would be higher.

I should be paying 50 bucks for the upgrade - not 99. Notice the boldface section that proves this. 199 - 149 is 50. At least, in the known universe:). Bear in mind, Cakewalk sent me the invitation. I did not ask for it. However, I only get the 99 offer, no matter what. No big deal, I can turn it down.

What is a big deal is the silence when I contacted support to get it resolved. No one answers.

I cannot paste my receipt here, but I can prove I paid 149 on 12/31/15.

    Please read: Renewal pricing

We'll be officially releasing renewal pricing next week but we have set-up the store to allow for renewals with the correct pricing. Just renew the version you already own (SONAR ArtistSONAR Professional, or SONAR Platinum) and one year of Rolling Updates will be tacked on to your current membership end date, found on your Membership page.

Pricing has changed a little based on what we posted last year. The one-time renewal for a SONAR Platinum Rolling Upgrade is now $149 or $14.99/mo. However, now through February 28th, we'll be running a special where customers can purchase it for $99. All other pricing for SONAR Artist and Professional remain the same.

Our original plan was to announce this next week prior to the one-year anniversary, along with a host of new features for 2016. This is still the plan but we wanted to make sure customers trying to renew got the updated price today. In addition, customers who are on monthly payments and have completed a year will get the $14.99/mo price. That change will be made next week as well prior to any renewal dates.

For those that purchased it for $149 this month, please contact customer service and we will adjust your price.

Thanks for your patience. More exciting information to come next week. And of course we appreciate all the interest and your loyalty over the past years. 2016 is going to be another great year!

This is the post about renewal. You could contact Andrew Rossa through Private mail. Maybe this would work faster.

metal_bassist, you're all set. If you add SONAR Platinum (with Lifetime Updates) to your cart now, you'll see it for the right price. If not, remove it from your cart, then add it back in and you'll be good to go.

    Oh, I see now.

You purchased Platinum in December of 2015 and then renewed Platinum again before way before the full year was up.  Yes, Cakewalk should give you the discount minus the difference.
