Important info about Lifetime Updates

I jumped on the lifetime updates within a few days of it being offered. A couple of days later they charged me the monthly fee. I thought to myself "Ah well, the system hasn't adjusted yet and they'll refund that when it does catch up." Fast forward to this month and I got a notice that my debit card had been declined (expired date on card) for my monthly subscription. So after much searching I found out that WE are responsible for cancelling the monthly subscription. I don't mind that so much except that no where on the receipt or the info that was put out, was there a warning that monthly subscribers needed to do this. AND the topper is that whatever I paid was non-refundable. I'm really angry about this. I have been extremely happy with Cakewalk's customer service up to this point, but this stinks like a money grab. My only consolation is that they weren't able to charge it a second time.

If you overpaid, Cakewalk will provide a refund.

Same thing happened to me, I just emailed Cleverbridge support and had my refund within an hour or two. Their customer support is excellent. :)

This should be sticky in on the main board.

It's difficult to believe that the CW brass actually sat around and said "We'll we'll see how long it takes for them to notice".

Yeah, that's true. In my case, I thought it was just a coincidence because I unthinkingly bought the lifetime a couple hours before the normal time they ding my Paypal for the monthly. So yeah, pretty large oversight on CW's part. It was brutally painless to sort out, but still. I can't imagine Cleverbridge is too happy about it either...

They have ALWAYS been fair and reasonable with fixing any billing mistakes - I think they are a bit overwhelmed with whatever meltdown in the technical support area and possibly in the lifetime updates processing mechanisms - hard to say from the outside.

BUT - they DO have a good history with fixing mistakes when they have occurred in the past, so I recommend hanging in there for a bit, and hopefully they will start catching up on these 'fell through the cracks' issues. :)

Hi there!
I need some Clarification.

I am currently a monthly subscriber, I have made 6 payments so far for Sonar Platinum, meaning I do not own it yet. So my question is: If I purchase the Lifetime Updates (€204). Would I still have to keep paying for the monthly fee for the next 6 months or can I cancel that subscription?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Guyl
