Rearranging busses

I'd really like to be able to drag and drop busses in the console view to group them as I like

Cool didn't know that one. If you move the busses in track view, it also achieves the same thing (the orders are linked, I don't now if you can un-link them)

CV track folders would complete me

Along with hidden MIDI tracks NOT hiding SITs

SIT = Simple Instrument Track - which combine the MIDI and audio in to a single track linked to a single soft synth

Thanks Boydie, I thought it would be something obvious. I mainly, or almost entirely use SITs. I'm not clear on the post still. When I insert say AD2 into a track as an SIT, it creates a midi track on the console view, which I typically hide. I can see both by default.

If you use Simple ITs, the track is hidden in CV if you have MIDI tracks hidden.  If you use Split ITs, you can still see the instrument's audio track in CV with MIDI tracks hidden.

I always use split instrument tracks for this reason.  There are a lot of cases where I would use simple instrument tracks if I could keep them visible in CV without having to display all MIDI tracks.

Yes, I could hide MIDI tracks one-by-one in CV, but that's too fiddly for me.

With you now, thanks for clarifying. Things weren't actually doing what I thought they were as I hide all midi tracks in console view

If you pull up the Track manager in CV (h), select the MIDI button and you can switch their visibility en masse with the spacebar.

You can do it with the Strips menu at the top of CV too.  But I NEVER want to see MIDI tracks in CV.  I would, however, like to see SIT tracks in CV.

This isn't a huge deal for me, BTW.  I've learned to live without SITs

The only way I know to move multiple tracks is to right-click on them and move them to a folder.

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!
