SPLAT Intermittent digital distortion / dropout on recording since KB4093112 update.

Gigabyte 990FX UD7 AMD FX8150 32GB DDR3
Samsung 850 Pro 512GB SSD System Drive
Adaptec 6805 with RAID5 4x1TB (2.8TB usable) Audio Drive
Lynx Aurora16 and Aurora8 to 2 x AES16e firmware and drivers are the latest available from Lynx.
Windows 10 1709 Sonar Platinum, last version available from the command center.
Sonar / Lynx set at 256 sample buffer (tried 512 and 1024 as well) tried read caching on and off, write caching on and off.
System was stable at 96/24 until KB4093112 forced its way onto the machine.
Since, I have had BSOD in Sonar (driver_irql_not_less_or_equal) until I uninstalled KB4093112, leaving KB4093110 (flash security update). After uninstalling, I started a new project with simple programmed drums on AD2 and started recording guitar.
1 mic into preamp into Aurora16 channel 1 into 1st AES16e (timing master) into an armed channel in Sonar.
I noticed the input level drop several times on the signal meter on the armed channel in Sonar as the guitar player recorded his take.
Transport never stopped, drums never stopped playing. When we stopped recording, there were bits of silence in the recorded waveform, with sound getting distorted as playback approached that point, then fading back in after a second or two of silence.
I restarted the workstation, tried recording at 96/24, 48/24, and 44.1/16. I watched the Lynx mixer on one screen while Sonar ran on the second screen to verify that the mixer was still showing signal even when Sonar showed signal dropping. It did.
DPC latency checker does not show latency spikes at all, and definitely nothing that corresponds to points at which the signal drops out in Sonar.
I am at a loss. Has anyone else seen anything similar? Any suggestions for next troubleshooting steps?

Thank you

Aaron

This sounds like a plugin has dropped into trial mode after your windows update. Some plugins see your Windows install as a different PC after an update.

I've seen IK Multimedia & Addictive Drums plugins do this, maybe some others too - they insert random noise/dropouts at regular intervals.

You may need to de-authorise/re-authorise the offending plugin if this is the case.
