field daze

Hi,

This is a  dobro/guitar tune I've been working on. I think ( hope ) it's done but I could be living in a fool's paradise...if you've got a few minutes give it a listen and let me know.

Thanks!

If you're living in a fool's paradise, make room for me.  This is so pristine that I don't know where to start.  You are truly a master, and I hope you get a lot of hits for this.

Impossible not to like a song with a dobro, AND a mandolin! My only complaint is, I had the buds in, and the volume all the way up, and I ripped them out of my head when it started and uttered an expletive of some kind. When I turned it down and listened again, it was a thing of beauty. And a thing of beauty is a joy forever...

    Hey Gary
FANTASTIC performance/mix as always! The dobro sounds so clear and full in this piece.  Cool bass line.  Funny you should make a dobro tune.  The local guitar store in my town has a really nice sounding used Wetcher, square neck dobro. The wife gave me the green light to purchase it.  Not knowing a thing about dobros I got cold feet spending that kind of money on a instrument I can't play.  After stalling for a week I went to buy it anyway and it was gone.  A sign that I should leave the dobro to muscians such as yourself who can make that guitar sing.
A really wonderful piece of music, Gary!

    Later,
    Kev

P.S. . . I know hes not playing a dobro when I took this photo but Richie Owens is a FANTASTIC dobro player himself.  He was nice enough to give my girls a little demo when visiting his store in Nashville.  The store has an awesome collection of dobros/resonator guitars.

Nice tune.... guitars and mandolins.....and dobro's.   What's not to like.... it starts out country and switches to a light jazz for a time.... so very nice.

    A complete pleasure to hear.

I was in a store in Amsterdam that hand some resonated guitars? I don't think you ever could have cleaned that stuff off of them.

Lynn: Hi Lynn, thanks for listening and commenting. Glad you liked the tune. I appreciate your time and the positive feedback.

The Band19: Hi Robby, how are you? Great to hear from a fellow dobroist (is that a word?). Careful with those earbuds, though. They always fall out of my ears so I couldn't use them if I wanted to but I think it's always good to avoid sticking things in our ears...especially loud things  Thanks for listening...glad you thought it was a 'thing of beauty'.

Rikkie: Hey Rik. Thanks very much! Glad I could get your day off to a good start

drumstixkev:  Hi Kev, sorry to hear you missed the opportunity to pick up the Wetcher but I don't think it's sign you shouldn't get one...it's just a sign you shouldn't WAIT to get one There are lots of good, affordable brands out there and I'm sure you would pick it up quickly. Also...when were you in Nashville? I live in Nashville...I wish I had known you were visiting...anyway, let me know next time you're in town and thanks, as always, for listening and for the kind comments.

Hi Herb. Yea, it started out as an attempt at a bluegrass tune but I can't play that stuff well enough to make it interesting so I had to switch gears after a minute or so Thanks for listening and commenting, glad you liked it.
