file conversion question ....

Hey everyone .. I have another question on file conversion .... I currently record and export at 24 bits 48000 sample rate ... when I master I convert it to 16 bits 44100 for cd but I also export a copy  at 24 - 48 for use in making a video sense that is what they say is the norm for video ... my question is if I convert this to mp3 for use online, does it make any noticeable difference to the mp3 file by using the 24-48 file as the source file instead of the 16-44 ?

I'd say yes, while not a huge difference in most cases....normally 24 bit gives you more headroom.
If you're 24 bit master is really 'full' and has not much room left....converting to 16 bit might sound bad....you'll have to try I guess.
From what I understand, masters for iTunes etc sometimes are made from 24 bit and then a seperate master is made for CD in 16 bit..
I'd choose 24 bit to make the MP3 always.

Since your native recording resolution is 24/48, that's the preferred option to convert to MP3 although I doubt anyone would hear a difference if you used 16/44.1 instead.
