fireface 800 and hi rez recording

hey guys i was wondering if you can give me some advice,i got my ff 800 last thursday (finally) i want to do some projects at high rez, I,ve got the wavelab5 to do the authoring, and i'm about to have some one bulid my PC for me.soooo i was wondering how do i go about building a PC robust enough to handle high rez recording, i mean what should i pay special attention to. with ZLM onboard the rme i could have a fairly large buffer size and not worry about latency, i hope unles there is something that i don't know about. my pc will be built around the amd 64 x2, 4 gigs of ram, lastest cache, and chipset, and i want to use firewire hard drives. i intend to record some of my clients live so i'm thinking what is a good buffer size to use? any technical information about how to set up and what to look out for would be most welcome.

The only thing in what you listed that might not work well would be using Firewire harddrives, which would cut down on the ability of the Fireface to use the available firewire bandwidth effectively. I'd suggest using the firewire drives only for quick backup.

I agree with newfuturevintage, use the firwire hard drives for backup. Instead look at using 7200 RPM SATA 2 or SATA 1 drives. If you go with SATA 2, make sure the Motherboard can handle them. Check out SilentPC Review for ideas about quiet hard drives, motherboards, graphics cards, etc. at www.silentpcreview.com.
