firmware

hey guys,

got a V-studio 100 recently and saw there are drivers you can download in the support area.

I downloaded the windows 7 driver, since I got a newer computer not long ago. got that installed.

downloaded the "1.5" firmware, but am not sure how to use it or install it right? What do I need to do to get that going? Is that going to kinda "rewire" the actual unit's programming? I got into the zipped file and it has you create a new file and then it brings up this weird box and not sure what to do...

then some other download about v-studio VST plug-in app or something...

thanks

Mr. Oliver

install the 1.5 firmware update first and then install the 2.0 drivers. the drivers require it. just follow the prompts to install both, it should go smoothly.

i've already installed the windows 7 driver and it is working, but I didn't do the firmware 1.5. Do you have to have the vs100 unit on when doing the firmware? I could try again. or maybe it simply already did it and I don't even know... hmmmm

yeah I mean I have been using the device and software, so it's functionable, but I wonder if I really need the 1.5 firmware or not or if it makes a big difference if I don't have it... My computer I use for recording is not hooked up to the internet also.

Maybe I need to go back again and redo-it. Not sure.

I extracted files and it created a "firmware 1.5 folder with a read-me file and an update SMF file application. it has a red-stop sign look about it.

When I clicked on that it brings up a weird box that talks about midi, scan SMF(what's an SMF anyway??). I had the vs100 turned on and it had options to choose vs-100 control, microsoft wave or vs-100 midi. And I tried both vs-100 options, but it wouldn't scan anything or do anything... All I can do is close it as far as I know. So I wonder if it's already been installed somehow....
