great new synth

The guys over at vst zone (Alpha Pegasi etc) have done it again.
Their UFO synth is out. Free version, and a "Special" version for a donation just under $7. More presets, oscillators, etc.

Very fine unit. Alpha Pegasi bump as well in case it was missed.

hmm....

Just got the email from them announcing, but not a new synth since I just saw fixes from April 2013...  New to me anyway and dropped the $7 without a second thought. Maybe the "special" version is just now available.

Passing note for anyone remotely interested in this...

Found one minor problem with UFO depending on application.

The upgrade to AAS va-1 to va-2 allows both synths to reside happily side by side.

UFO upgrade doesn't like the freebie on my system.  The same two dlls register in the vst ini file, but both don't show up as options if you wanted to chain them.

Not a big deal because the upgrade by itself has all the features and presets of the free version categorized separate from the enhanced presets. One can apply the upgrade capabilities to the freebie presets and save as needed.

This is a sleeper gone under the radar. Stereo imaging is excellent. Only negative so far (IMHO only) is that rhythmic pulsation is built into too many presets. Can however be backed off and saved for less volatile time dependent effect.

Bumping this for the good and welfare of all digital humanity.

Post probably off the deep end of obscurity, but anyone get a rise off these? If they don't register in Sonar X3, try Reaper. Beautiful synthesizers and new ones being developed as we speaks. Way cool in my book.

Thanks.  I just downloaded the UFO synth and also their Amplio.  The Amplio is a  Multiband EQ with harmonic exciter, saturation, spatial enhaner, and reverb.  However, it is only 32bit.  Just threw it in a mix and played with it and my first impression is that I will keep it.

    Thanks guys,

Had an email from the devs that they are still working on UFO and new presets will be released with additional smooth expressions desirable for longer pads and sweeps. Mentioned that the time modulations can always be backed off and saved.

The depth and spatial presentation of this synth and Pegasi is quite good. Deserves a unique niche status in any vsti arsenal.

    Best,
