Did you try "Options > Preferences > Restore Factory Content"?

I had a similar problem and just couldn't fix it. So, I uninstalled Guitar Rig 4 LE and then did a "custom install" of X1 and only checked "Guitar Rig 4 LE" and, once reinstalled, everything worked perfectly fine and has ever since.

Are you 100% sure it is registered and activated? Native Instruments is very quirky and non-obvious in this respect.

I had this same problem (I think ) and ended up having to go to tech support who suggested a partial reinstall selecting GR4 only.  (Incidentally, I haven't had tried the solution yet - long story).    Here is the advice:

First, please make sure that Guitar Rig 4 LE is updated by going to Start | All Programs | Native Instruments | Service Center and checking for updates (this will require you to connect your computer to the internet). If after running any available updates you still do not see any modules within Guitar Rig 4 LE, please try reinstalling it from your original SONAR X1 Producer installer by following these steps:
    1. Disable your startup items by going to Start and typing "msconfig" in the search box. Press [Enter]. The System Configuration dialog will open.
    2. Go to the Startup tab, click [Disable all], click [Apply] and [OK]. Press [Restart] when prompted.
    3. Launch the SONAR X1 installer. Proceed through the installation menus until you are given a choice between a Basic or Advanced installation. Choose Advanced. On the Select Components screen choose "Minimal Installation". Uncheck Program Files. Check Guitar Rig 4 LE and continue with the installation. When the installation completes properly, you can return to the System Configuration Utility and re-enable your startup items.

SONAR Platinum rolling updates:  Intel i7 2600k on Gigabyte P67A UD 7: 16GB RAM:  W7 x64 Home Premium.
