The drum loops are on the CD they don't install to your HD. I can't remember exactly where they are on the disc but I think you will be able to find them. I did so its not to hard.

    Hi,

There are a bunch of drum loops on the GTPro3 CD. Check the following folders...

    \\Audio Loops\Smart Loops
\\Sample Content\Play Along Songs by SmartLoops

Here you can get more free drum loops...
    http://www.smartloops.com/Free/

Then from there you can get Cakewalk's Drumatic CD for even more drum loops.

That should keep you busy for a while ;-)

    groovetracks,

LOL Getting into this puter recording stuff, huh??

How about the country loops. Hear any of them? Any on set II? They said they included some. Banditt sent a good URL for drums, but I always need more.

Ask the someone at Cakewalk who the company is that they get a lot of their loops from. Zak K {Cakewalk} told me they get some of their stuff from a larger company that does tons of various loops. They may even have some hammond loops. Someone on here must know what I'm talking about. I looked for the e-mail from Zak, that gave the URL , but couldn't find it right off hand.

    slacks,

have'nt really paid attention to the country loops yet but i hope to get to them eventually- i am putting down a song using the hyper rock loops out of vol 2 and am very excited about them- they really do sound live - only trouble is i would like to vary a couple of the loops like change a ride on one loop to an open hat but i have no clue how to do this. The sound of these loops are amazing and are perfect for my track "one last show" - it is a fast rocker in the vain of blink 182 and presidents of usa. the smart loops that come with gtp3 seem pale in comparison but i'm sure i'll put them to use as well eventually.
i do have a couple of country and country/blues fingerstyle pieces (and one kind of cliche'ed country 12 bar with pedal steel licks you've heard a 100 times before lol lol) that i want to record.- so in 6 months lol when i eventually get around to putting them down i'll let you know what the loops sound like.
As for puter call, i am developing a love/hate relationship with computer recording, lol - it is totally a new trip for me and not one i made by choice just necessity- if i had cash i would lay everything down at a good studio somewhere and let the engineer have all the headaches associated with latency,drop-outs and all the other mysterious problems when delving into the digital world.
i miss the days where i would lay back in a control room sleeping or eating pizza or talking crap to friends only to interject occassionally to the engineer "can you turn up the tambourine" or "put some more fuzz on the bass" or "more fuzz on the hammond- i want that deep purple filthy hammond sound" lol then resume socialising with bandmates while the engineer dials up a sound. i also loved the excitement of co-mixing on a non-automated analog desk while
4 of us had 8 hands on the mixing board moving faders and muting and unmuting tracks. primitive cool has been replaced by technical nightmares- anyway i'm still having fun ... i think

    hey-- groovey

the drums on demand vol.1 set has a folder for just drum hits on it. i don't think they included it on vol.2. vol. 1 is just as good as 2 so if you run dry it's worth the cost if it's still shipping. i very often split the loops in half and sometimes quarters but isolating a cymbal to replace it could be a tough task to pull off without any pops or crackles or loss of decay or sustain. of course adding a cymbal is easiest.

    hey nyhatco,
just got an email from DOD this morning telling me their is a volume 3 just released. It looks like it has loads of loops and single hits- i must of bought mine two weeks too early hey lol . Thanks for the response and i agree that it could get ugly replacing the rides. i thought maybe there was some software that is more friendly for chopping up loops - someone told me about abletons live or maybe slicy drummer or something but for now i'll just wait a while and probably grab the new vol 3.

When you paste the DOD loops in the edit view do you lift the level at all or do you wait till mixdown. My last track i am finding the drums are getting buried in a wall of guitars. When i mix i can probably fix this but i was just wondering if i should do anything in the tracking stage to make sure i have a good level on the drums - thank-you man

yeah- i got that message this morning and i need more. as far as drum levels, whenever i import them they seem to be at the perfect level. that's the one instrument i can always count on to be right on. since i can't control the level coming in i set my other instruments to match that. ordering vol 3 now!

If I get cracks and pops I put the single hits on a different track. That usually works !!
