Cakewalk Tuner was not included with X1. No great loss. The tuner in Guitar Rig 4 is far better.

EDIT: Oops. forgot which forum I was in. Cakewalk Tuner was included in Producer up through 8.5; you just need to re-run the installer, and check the box for it in the list of plug-ins. But the tuner in Guitar Rig (3 in 8.5) is still the way to go.

I downloaded a free VST called "GTune."  It does the job nicely.

The tuner is listed in the VST folder for me in both P6 and P7. It's not very good. I use this sometimes http://www.gieson.com/Lib...jects/utilities/tuner/ but much prefer my Boss pedal. Tuning is almost as important as performance.

FX bin: insert effect | cakewalk | tuner    C_Tuner

I tried it again last night. Works OK.  Verify 440 before using. And adjust sensitivity.

I have used it to adjust to previously recorded stuff.  I usually pick the root note on the 1 for four measures as a count-in. Also gives a reference pitch for the song. Some of the old tapes are not at concert pitch. Very useful.

Also there is a tuner in Guitar rig. Almost too sensitive. Has some defaults.

Usually I use a Snark. Small, and happy.
