headphone hair?

So I have an afro... my hair tends to grow much slower where the headphones rest, which I must happens happens so much that apparently my hair growth IS stunted across that band!!
Do you guys gets headphone/headband hair, too?

Well, I'm 51 years old so soon I probably won't have to worry about this problem at all.

I bet your hair is just flattened where the headphone band is. I've never heard of headphones stunting hair growth.

Having said that, if headphone related hair loss is really worrying you, perhaps it's time to invest in a pair of these:

My hair grows so fast that sometimes I have to cut the headphones out at the end of the day.

Most of the time I look like a .wav-man.

nope... not a problem.... my hair lays flat most of the time.... early morning is the exception.... (a picture of that is worth more then any kind of explanation) and.... quite often I'm wearing a ball cap to keep misc stuff out of my hair as I work. That, of course, results in a totally different hairstyle when I remove the cap back at home.

But... on the afro hair style.... several of my Marine Corps buds had pretty decent afro hair styles.... much longer than the USMC regulations allowed. However, they managed to keep it hidden better than any of us white guys could have. At night they "packed" it down with tight pantyhose and some gel. They could pass the morning roll call inspections with a breeze...... when liberty call came and we were headed to town, they simply picked it out and off we went.

I have that same problem.  Not with hair, mind you.  That would be ridiculous.  My headphones appear to embed themselves into my scalp.  At first, I thought my head was expanding around the band of the headphones.  I wasn't worried that my head was expanding, but I was concerned that it was because my scalp was trying to escape from my brain.  As time went on and the top of my head failed to achieve escape velocity, I realized that I was wrong.  My scalp knew better than to try to get away.  Instead, it had decided that misery did indeed love company.  In a twisted desire to share the despair and agony that comes from close proximity to my brain with something/someone else, it had seized my headphones.  I hated to see that happen to a nice pair of Sennheisers, but my scalp was a little less traumatized.

Hope that helps.

I'm 51 as well, so I no longer have that option!
