hello i'm back shs7xl sound distored with vsti

 
happy Easter.......
Dear friends  how is everything?
ok after 6 months plus i am back ...i run a sonar 7 home xl ,i had a problem with the software were after using 2 or more track with vsti i had a sound distorsion and the cpu usage was going to the red...well the pc whent down and after few months i was able to buy this laptop 2x the memory and space and still i am having the same problem...it is less than the old setup but still the sound are not clean ...it sound like just like you play alive  and you have a bad jack cable ...i've notice that if i use very low volume the problem is lot less ...here my set up
midi controller keyboard roland xp 50 .... usb to midi cakewalk um 2g....  usb audio    interface behringer uca 222 to an ordinary headphone set sennheiser hd497
pc   dell inspiron 1750 window 7   ram 4.0   processor intel(R) core (TM)2 dual cpu t6600  @2.20ghz ...64bit operating system

    the behringer UCA222 is not the best soundcard and that could be your distortion problem.  do you have the latest drivers from behringer?  if not, get those and make sure you're in ASIO driver mode.  OPTIONS>AUDIO>DRIVER MODE = ASIO.

    thank you for your tip beagle ...i allready tryed that but did not worked
    i think it may be the behringer ,so my question to you is what can i buy
    that will fix the problem and is not to expensive?

    Check all your connections; it could be a wire problem.
    You can also change the number of buffers in the playback queue or the I/O buffers.
    Increasing the latency might help.

    well i did decrease the latency that was way off ,connections i don't think so i changed all the cables involved
    when i first installed sonar in to my new laptop the delay was horrendes
    i lowered the latecy just enough buit i had to go pretty low with the setting...thank you Greg
