Hi,
That's exactly what it was like when we were wiring the Garvin Theater at the Santa Barbara City College and the new board at the time ... even bigger issue is that all those wires went hundreds of feet, and if they were mislabel'd ... you had a nightmare!
As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

Hi, well that's nothing! My house looks worse than that AND we had to walk to school with hundreds of feet of that cable in our backpacks, uphill in this snow! both ways!
