help video

Have a pretty old ATI Radeon HD 5700 card. All of a sudden my monitor is blinking on and off from time to time. Then goes ok for long time then starts blinking again. Sometimes I have to re-boot and then it is ok for a day or so again.

Does this mean the card is on the way out? I'm sure I have the most recent drivers. Don't even know where to go for this. Monitor is an old LG 23-24 inch that only gets 1680x1050. I'm not big on video cards and monitors. These are fine. Would hate to have to get a new one.

    Test the monitor with a 2nd system... and vice-versa if at all possible.
    Also, check the cable...
