horrible "phasey" sound from melodyned bounced tracks in X2
Whenever I melodyne a track in X2 I get a bad "phasey" sound on the new bounced track that isn't there in the melodyned track when playing back. I've used FAST and SLOW bounce and it does the same in both. then I imported the vocal track into a new project of X1 and bounced it and it works perfectly.

Is the original clip sitting behind it? i.e. doubled up?

Hmm.... I've done one track so far with Melodyne in X2. No probs. But I have Editor, not Essential. YMMV.

matt - that was what I was thinking as well, but I bounced it to a new track and made sure the original was muted. I'm thinking that must have something to do withit, tho, that's what it sounds like when that happens. I don't know. maybe I'll import into a new project and try it in X2 and see what happens. bapu - ya.

Hmm, maybe a bounce bug? Maybe try a few different bounce configurations to try and replicate when specifically it occurs. Maybe if you're bouncing with the muted original clip it's un-muting for some reason? You could try a null test with the original clip to see if it is actually being blended. Would that even work or show anything??? :S Is the volume increasing by 6 ish dB?

I used Melodyne 2.1.0 (64 bit) Friday night on a couple tracks. Did a Bounce to Track (Full bounces), just made sure I did not bounce the Bus Effects and they came out exactly as I expected.

I think you're on the right track, vettetech. I DID have FX in the PC, but I disabled them before bouncing. one of the FX I had in there was a DELAY. and even tho it was disabled, I think it bounced the delay and EQ anyway. I think this may be a PC issue. I also had a crash when using the PC with a track where I had melodyne in the FX bin. I imported the tracks into a new project in X2 and did not add any FX in the PC or the bin (except for melodyne) and redid my edits, and redid the bounce and there was not a problem. so I think this is a problem with interaction with PC.

ditto on the bounce "all FX" thing... I will set up a vocal buss and place all the FX into it.... or I save the FX, if I have tweezed them, to a new preset then I delete them from the bin before bouncing or applying the melodyne to the track. I never experimented to see if it bounces disabled fx but I'm guessing it does. After I bounce or more commonly now I simply "APPLY FX" to the existing track (with melodyne) I will add the other fx, verb and such back to the bin or leave them in the vocal bus.

I didn't have to delete them in X1. just disable them. it shouldn't be designed so that you have to delete them.

I have Melodyne Editor and just tried an experiment to see if PC wasn't behaving here, but all worked as expected. I put a couple of FX in the track's FX bin, and Breverb module into the track's Pro Channel. I switched them all off (radio buttons, not delete them) and Transferred the clip into Melodyne. I fiddled with it a bit (so I knew something had changed) and then bounced the clip to a new track. The new clip was as expected: Melodyned and no FX printed (FX bin or PC). When you bounce the clip do you select it, go Tracks/Bounce To Track(s), then choose 'Source Category' as 'Tracks'?

well, thanks everyone. looks like it was my fault for not installing the quickfix. as soon as I installed the quickfix, the bouncing stopped causing the phasey sound and is now behaving.
