how do you remove "just a few" vst's?

The vst help tells us how to remove all but how do we remove just a few? I am doing some spring cleaning.

Thanks forum

That's a good question. I can't figure that out either.

Use the adapter to scan the plugins as normal; on the screen with the list of plugins, select the plugin you want to remove, then click Properties and untick either 'Enable as a DX plugin' or 'Enable as a DXi'. Do this for all plugins you want to remove and then finish the adapter process as normal.

Or you could just download the Plugin Manager that Cakewalk made available a few years ago...

Install the Cakewalk Plugin Manager from the installation DVD. You can find it at \Plugin Manager\PMInstall.exe.

That Sonar Plugin Manager is now on the V2 installation disk; uninstalled by default. It might be a little cleaner solution to remove the "offending" .dll and it's asociated help files, etc. from your main VST plugin folder first, and rescan your existing plugins with the Adapter. Here's where using the file management solution of breaking your plugins down in advance to individual sub-folders comes in handy.

By all means, check to see first if the plugin has an un-installation routine in Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs. If not, manually remove the .dlls & files in Window's Explorer pointed to your VST plugin folder. If you get stuck as to what should be removed, compare the file names to those in the original downloaded .zip or install disk. Then run the Adapter again normally.

With MFX or DX plugins, you can also use the Sonar Plugin Manager, or go to Tencrazy here and download the Windows Shell Extensions. That puts registering/unregistering those types of plugins directly in a right-click menu of the plugin .dll itself. HTH

I removed the offending VST's .dlls from the VST folder re-scanned and after all was said and done. I open p5 and it is still listed in the VST effects. Should I press the RESET ALL button and start over?

    hmmmm......................
    thanks if you can help
