If you want to Email it you may want to use a Bundle file. However, Emailing a project is not often supported by ones ISP. The file size may be too big. If its simply MIDI with no audio you may want to save it as a MIDI file. That will Email with ease. By the nature of your question I get the impression you are looking for a means to Email directly from X1 that is not supported.

Backups. Always backup a project if you want to be safe. All this means is save it on more than one HD. You can always burn it to CD too.

I use dropbox a lot, it's great. You'll chew through the free storage pretty fast saving sonar projects in it though. Price is very reasonable for bigger capacity though.
